People have had hearing problems
People have had hearing problems forever. By the 1800s, they used a funnel like cones to try and help the condition. I suppose you could call them hearing aids too, but you can understand how technology has evolved them into what they are now. Before you write yourself off as deaf, you might want to try the hearing aid first. It is only meant to improve your hearing, though, not to create it for you. So, you do need to hear a bit already so that the device can go the rest of the way. I saw the type of hearing aid that had earphones on display in a museum once. I thought it was funny, having to sit in the same place the entire time while someone spoke with you. But I guess it was a small price to pay to get to hear better in those days. You wouldn’t want to be caught with a hearing aid that does not help, would you? I suggest you get a clear picture of what you suffer from and let the doctor prescribe your special device. Then you can have one at home too. Some of the hearing aids they used in the olden days werent certainly very portable. I know specifically of this very huge type that I read about some time back. It was a bulky table thing with all the needed fittings, but it could not be moved. Think about the inconvenience, and perhaps the expense of it. A lot of kudos to technology for real for the advancements they have made in all this time. Hearing aids are now things you wear in your ears with comfort.
